Montenegro is an extraordinarily beautiful country - a fairy tale, where gardens, flowers, mountains and ancient cities are everywhere.
The swimming season here starts in April. In Montenegro, the beaches are usually divided into Riviera. Their names usually coincide with the name of the nearest major city. Each Riviera is unique. There are practically no private beaches in Montenegro, but there are "closed areas". Sveti Stefan is the most prestigious Montenegrin resort built up with luxurious hotels. Only guests of local hotels or restaurant visitors can get to the beach of St. Stephen's Island. The coast of Montenegro is conditionally divided into 3 parts: the Budva Riviera, the Bay of Kotor and the coast near the resorts of Ulcinj and Bar. Artificial beaches are located mainly in Tivat, Herceg Novi, Igalo and Bar. Pebble and sandy beaches are mainly in Budva and its environs, rocky - in Bar. In the Ulcinj resort area there are Small and Large beaches, the distinguishing feature of the latter is fine black sand.
Most hotels in Montenegro are located on the coastline, at a minimum distance from the beach. The most luxurious hotels are in Budva, Kotor, and, of course, in the resort of Sveti Stefan.
